Your brand is more than a logo. It's the feeling people get when they interact with your business — online, in person, everywhere. If your brand feels inconsistent or forgettable, you're leaving money on the table. Here's the checklist every Miami business needs.

1. Brand Strategy (Before Design)

  • Target audience — Who exactly are you talking to? Be specific. "Everyone" is not an audience.
  • Positioning statement — What makes you different from competitors? Write it in one sentence.
  • Brand values — 3-5 core values that guide every decision. Not generic ones like "quality" — real ones.
  • Voice and tone — How does your brand sound? Professional? Casual? Bold? Playful? Pick a lane.
  • Competitive analysis — Know what your competitors look and sound like so you can be different.

2. Visual Identity

  • Logo — Primary logo, secondary mark, icon/favicon version. All three are essential.
  • Color palette — Primary color, secondary color, neutral palette, accent color. Define exact hex codes.
  • Typography — Heading font, body font, accent/mono font. Maximum 3 typefaces.
  • Photography style — What do your images look and feel like? Light and airy? Dark and moody? Document it.
  • Iconography — Consistent icon style across website, presentations, and social media.
  • Patterns and textures — Optional but adds depth. Noise overlays, gradients, geometric patterns.

3. Digital Presence

  • Website — Does it reflect the brand? Fast, mobile-first, clear CTAs, consistent styling.
  • Social media profiles — Profile photos, cover images, bio copy — all consistent across platforms.
  • Email templates — Branded email signatures, newsletter templates, transactional emails.
  • Google Business Profile — Photos, description, and posts that match your brand voice.

4. Brand Guidelines Document

Everything above should live in a single brand guidelines PDF. This is your brand's rulebook. Anyone who touches your marketing — agencies, freelancers, new hires — should be able to open this document and create on-brand work without asking questions.

Include: logo usage rules, color codes, typography specs, tone examples, do's and don'ts, and real-world application examples.

5. The Miami Factor
